From One at a Time: A Week in an American Animal Shelter

June 18th: Reason for surrender: “Unable to care for.”
June 23rd: Kittens have upper respiratory infection, need foster care for two weeks.
June 27th: Christine will foster.
July 22nd: C. brought back from foster today. She also treated for roundworm and coccidia.
July 24th: C. is taking Pearl back to foster for spay and recovery.
August 18th: Pearl has gotten a bit of a cold so she will be in foster a bit longer.
August 26th: Brought back from foster today. Tested negative for feline leukemia and feline immunodeficiency virus at vet. Flea treatment given on the 24th. Personality profile in front office.
August 31st: Treated for tapeworms.
September 14th: Pearl is a special kitty who would do well in a home where the people will let her just be a cat - she’s independent, a little aloof. She doesn’t like it here and shows her displeasure. From what C. says, she’s a great kitty at home, potential adopters should not be put off by her actions here, they should speak with C.
September 16th: Photographed for website.
October 15th: We are FULL. Talked to C. and she understands.
